Easy ways to take care of your skin

Posted by Triveni Shankar on

Your skin is the largest organ in your body. Taking care of it is not just a necessity but something that is vital. Most often, it so happens that everyone forgets or misses out on a thing or two from their beauty routine, assuming that, “Hey, it’s okay, it is only a few days right”, but no. That is not right. Not tending to your skin for even a single day can create a damage far worse than what you would like.

Here are a few easy ways to take care of your skin:

  1. Carry a face mist to help with dehydration

Long hours in a flight, too much sun exposure, dry winds stealing your moisture, a face mist is your knight in a shining armour. A face mist refreshes, hydrates and replenishes all the moisture your skin would've lost. Carrying a facial mist is a brilliant way to make sure your skin looks fresh, glows through the day and for all the time you spend outside. Glycerin, floral water, essential oils and menthol are most often used to make face mists. The formulas and ingredients vary from one brand to another but pick the one that best suits your skin.

  1. A super gentle face wash at timely intervals

Most of your time is spent outdoors during a holiday and it so happens that everyone forgets to wash their face during all the fun. This forgetful habit can clog your pores and irritate oil glands and create skin problems that won’t look so good in pictures. All you have to do is gently wash your face at intervals soft 3-4 hours, this will not only ensure that no harmful element or excess oil stays on your face and help it look better.

  1. Moisturizers and lotions to the fore

Moisturizers and lotions not only lock in moisture in your skin but some of them even have SPF to help protect your skin from the sun while hydrating it. Avoid picking moisturizers that are too greasy and oily, as they tend to block pores and can lead to breakouts.

  1. Refrain from touching your face too often

This tip is not just for the holidays but for your day to day life as well. Avoid touching your face too often, as your hands carry way too many germs that could cause severe allergy/irritation to your face.

  1. Hand Sanitizers, make-up remover/make-up wipes

Again, this tip is not just for the holidays but for your day to day life as well. As you tend to touch numerous objects, you tend to collect their bacteria. Touching your germ ridden hands to your already dirty face is bound to make matters worse. Carry a hand sanitizer and a few make up wipes to save your skin for all the trouble.

*Kindly note: If your problem persists or causes irritation kindly visit your doctor and do not self-medicate.
